I never really dress up on Thanksgiving because we usually keep it pretty small, with just our family at home. With my sisters and I coming home from college, we love the small talk, laughter, and food from our mom so much. We really love the idea of just being at home and soaking up the family time. But, the idea of planning Thanksgiving attire sounded so fun to me so I was so excited when we got an invite to Friendsgiving!

Thanksgiving Attire
Friendsgiving in Kent, OH, November 22nd, 2016
White Dress (c/o), Plaid Bomber Jacket (c/o), Anthropologie Earrings, Boots
I was so ecstatic when we got invited to a friendsgiving here at school and I got to plan an outfit to wear. I always have a hard time spending a ton of holiday outfits that I will never wear again, so I love finding a statement piece that still works as something I can wear over and over.
Knowing we were having corn casserole, pumpkin pie, sweet potatoes, turkey, apple crumble, mash potatoes, and more, I knew I wanted Thanksgiving attire that was forgiving. No one wants skin tight dresses for a day that is based around food. I also wanted a little jacket to throw on (little did we know it’d be snowing when we leave).
We had the most wonderful night with our dear friends and will cherish the moments of laughter with them forever! It was such a fantastic way to end our last fall at college.
I ended up ordering through Rent the Runway, knowing I could pick out designer/high end items and not pay crazy amounts! It is the perfect way to dress for the holidays. It really allows you to pick great brands like Rebecca Minkoff, Tory Burch, Rebecca Taylor, etc.
As you plan your Thanksgiving attire and outfits this holiday season, don’t forget to dress in layers (holiday parties get toasty real fast as more people show up), think about who will be at the party (more conservative for work parties), and what the attire is meant to be (casual, black tie, cocktail). RTR has so many options and the rentals come so quickly and sending them back is effortless!
