Do you ever see those dreamy resorts in movies that you just droll at? Me too and Garden of the Gods Resort is just that! I stayed here 2 weeks ago before I headed up to Winter Park with Russell and his team for a relaxing, fun filled, snowy weekend. Whenever I visit Colorado I always get excited to take pictures of the gorgeous view, but between sickness and snowy weather, my adventures tend to get cut short. However, while staying at Garden of the Gods Resort, I got more scenic shots and breathtaking views than I could have possibly ever imagined.

As I settled into the hotel, I made it just in time for the sunset- perfect! So, me being me, I ran outside on my walk out balcony in the Pinon Suite and shot the sunset in the gorgeous Garden of the Gods. As I came back inside, chilly as can be, I turned on the fireplace, grabbed my robe and snuggled up on the couch with a good book.
I sadly came down with the worst cold while in the Springs (it is sort of our joke that every time I visit Colorado I somehow get super sick). But, I could not have asked for a better place to be. I ordered some room service beef stew and quickly climbed under that cozy blanket. Which let me tell you, if I could only use that blanket for the rest of my life I would. Seriously, I kept telling Russell I wanted to go ask the front desk if I could buy one- they were SO comfortable and warm as ever.
The next morning I woke up for the sunrise and took full advantage of the day. I knew I only had a few short days at the resort before we were off to the mountains. The pinks and purples of the sky were unlike anything I have ever seen. The best part about the rooms is they look towards the sunrise so you can lay in bed or on the couch with the flawless view.
I had the best surprise come to my door- they personally delivered me chocolate covered almonds. Let me tell you guys, these are my FAVORITE!
I fell in love with this closet/bathroom and had way too much fun getting ready in the morning. They had the most spacious bathroom/closet and it made all the difference. While I was doing my hair and getting ready, I could turn the TV speakers on in the bathroom. So, I listened to some ESPN to start off the day.
As the day went on, I wandered downstairs to the heated infinity pool at Garden of the Gods Resort (that I had all to myself- nothing better!!). Plus, I wanted to grab a bite to eat in their variety of dining areas. I was super bummed I felt so poorly and did not get to enjoy the workout facility but everything was beautiful.
Everything the Resort had to offer was flawless. Plus, the service and front desk workers were unbelievably kind in every way. Which is an essential part, at least for me! Welcoming workers make every stay feel homier.
I hope to visit Garden of the Gods Resort many, many times in the future. I already have told my mom I want to take her at some point. It is the perfect getaway from a hectic schedule.
That Friday night, we left Colorado Springs and headed for the mountains of Winter Park. We had the time of our lives that weekend, with so many fun memories we will have forever. Russell’s friends have been such a blessing. I always love every moment I get to spend with all of them together.
I had never been snowboarding/skiing before (however, I am a professional tuber/sledder- that is for sure) because my family always chose the beach over mountains. So, Russ had quite the task on his hands to teach me how to snowboard. I have never fallen on my rear so many times while having so much fun. I was SO frustrated at the beginning, but quickly learned you just have to fall down a million times to get better.
It is rare that Russ and I get this many full days of time together, doing something fun, so we were soaking up every moment. The next day we went tubing in Fraser and loved it! We went with our friends and signed up for the 1 hour slot and could’ve done 3! We haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. I am hoping to share a youtube video soon of all the fun moments we shot.
The views of Colorado are truly unbeatable. Every time I go, I get all giddy over and over again. They really never get old.
As we wrapped up such a special MLK weekend with wonderful friends, we headed back down the mountain and grabbed a quick lunch in Denver. The time went by so quickly but I loved every moment so dearly. If you are ever in Colorado Springs, I promise you that Garden of The Gods Resort will be a perfect spot for you and if you are ever in Winter Park- TUBE! It’ll make you laugh till your belly hurts. Most of all, make sure to always find time to make lasting memories with your friends- it is so worth it.
