The Florence Dress…is there a better name? I saw this dress and instantly fell in love. Then saw it was named “Florence” and about died. My love for that place is endless. Although summer is winding down, I am trying to get all the use out of my dresses that I can.

A few weeks ago, one of my best friends from college, Hannah, came out to Santa Monica for the weekend. She helped me get Simply Poised going so many years ago and continued to shoot all my outfit posts until we graduated. We had been having serious blog shoot withdrawals since we separated, so this weekend was a treat. Plus, we got SO much content. I am forever thankful for her talent, friendship and enthusiasm for my dreams.

When I saw this Florence dress, I knew it’d be everything I wanted and more. I am already excited to pair it with my suede bomber and mules, to transition it to fall. I think that’s the magic with dresses, if you style them with other season’s pieces, you can wear them for so many months. When trying to figure out how to bring something from summer to fall, think scarves, boots, mules, layering a sweater, a hat, or chunky jewelry. There is no perfect equation to transitioning, but I have learned most of it through trial and error. If I am wearing a summer piece, I try and find my most “fall” pieces and then pair them together. Think summer dress + leather jacket or flirty skirt plus knee high boots and chunky sweater.

These shoes have become some of my favorites. They are delicate and sweet, plus they add a pop of color to any outfit. I carry this straw bag e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. I have no shame. You will see a lot more of it. I seriously add it to every look. It makes everything feel a little more casual and beachy to me.

I wish I could have the Florence dress in a million colors, but I can’t wait to style this one in more ways. A timeless dress is the best kind of find. What is your favorite dress right now?
