Denim shorts…THE item of the summer (besides dresses of course). Finding the perfect pair is always a tall task and hard to do. If they aren’t comfortable, you’ll never wear them enough to break them in. And if you don’t break them in, you’ll never wear them enough. So, I figured a little cheat sheet would do the magic. Each pair is special in their own way, so owning all 5 isn’t a bad idea…(I do)

1. Mango Frayed Hem Shorts
I got these shorts in Italy and I think I’ve worn them every other day since. I sized up and got them a little roomier (wearing them above) and seriously adore them. If you’re looking for a soft pair of denim shorts that loosen up a little, these are them. Plus, they are just long enough that they can be taken out of the daisy dukes category.
2. AGOLDE Parker Cutoff Shorts
If you haven’t heard of these by now…now you will. I hadn’t heard of them at all and then once I discovered them I couldn’t stop seeing them everywhere. They’re a little but pricier, but great to buy when there are sales running. Everyone loves them! They’re looser fitting and really just give the “summer beach” vibe.

3. Levi 501 High Rise Shorts
I own these in white and blue and love them both so much. They definitely fall more in the daisy duke category, but they really break in and give a flattering shape to your legs. They start off longer, but as you wear them they fray more and you can trim them a little bit. So if they are longer than you expected, I wouldn’t cut them right away, they’ll get there. But, they really keep their shape and last FOREVER.
4. Mango White Shorts
White denim…always the worst to buy. It’s hard to find something flattering, but also not too fitting or see through. THESE. ARE. WHAT. YOU. NEED. I have worn them non stop and truly love elevating my neutral colors with them. Plus, they’re a little longer which is a nice change up from my shorter white Levi 501’s.

5. J Crew Rolled Shorts
My favorites. My loves. I have had this pair for almost 4 years now and they are just as good as they were in the beginning. They have lasted forever and go with everything. They are more on the conservative side, but I really love to wear them year round. You can roll them to be a few different lengths too- versatile!
Some others I am loving...
