2020 is a big year. A REALLY big year. It’s going to be memorable for a lot of reasons (that I will share below). We’ve definitely hit the ground running this year. From the flu, to ski trips, wedding planning and more, it’s been a little more chaotic than normal. However, it’s been extremely special to take a step back and realize how thankful I am going into this year. We are so blessed to have the life we do and I try to never go t0o long without soaking it all in. I think that’s what 2020 is going to be for me. A big year of soaking it in, being present, and being open. Without further ado, here are the big things coming for RLL in 2020.
1. Confidence with Care
This is one of the things I am most excited about! I was trying to put into words what I want 2020 to be about on this site (besides all our fun travels and wedding) and the phrase “confidence with care” summed it up pretty perfectly. I have worked really hard in the last year to learn more about nutrition, fitness and overall self-care (here are a few things I started doing). I really want to hone in on it this year and share it with you. So, over the next 12 months I am going to take time to try new things, keep up routines I trust, and take notes along with way. So stay tuned! I am already trying a few new things that I can’t wait to share with you. If you have something you want me to try, DM me!

2. Our Wedding
Yep, cats out of the bag. We are getting married on June 13th, 2020 in Dallas! I know…speedy. But I enjoy planning things quickly! Plus, I’m going with the motto, the shorter amount of time you have to plan, the less you’ll spend and the less you’ll stress. I am so excited to celebrate with all our family and friends. We both have family that lives mostly out of state, so getting everyone to Texas is going to be really special for us. The less than 5 month countdown is on!

3. Honeymoon
Ahhhh the big “where are you guys going?!”. Our answer…TBD. We haven’t quite decided yet, but we will soon and I’ll keep you in the loop. We are shooting for somewhere with clear water, sandy beaches and a whole lot of R&R. Did someone say, Hawaii (here’s a peek into our last trip there), the Caribbean, Virgin Islands?
4. We are Moving in 2020
I know, we are sad too. Santa Monica is essentially like living in Disney World every day. It’s a dream destination and we are lucky enough to wake up to it every morning and call it home. Although the views are nice, the thing that has made it so abundantly special to us is the people. We’ve cultivated the best group of friends from our offices, church and mutual friends. I can’t really put into words what it’s going to be like to leave this special place. BUT, the great news is our new home will be Texas! Russ will start pilot training later this year and lucky for us it’s based 2 hours or so from all our family. So although we lose the ocean, we gain back that sacred time with our family and friends at home. We get to cheer on my little brother at high school football games and be home for weekend meals with our parents. It’s going to be an adventure, but an exciting one. Our friends here are lifelong, so it’ll be hard to leave them, but it’s good to know that we will still see them often. Plus, the Air Force is the reason for many of our best friends, so I am confident that it will continue to bless us with many more!
5. Travels
My bank account is crying as I type this, but it’s also my favorite part of every year. We have a lot of trips lined up this year:
-My little sister’s graduation
-Home to Texas for planning/last minute things
-Lake Tahoe to snowboard (our guide to Tahoe)
-Maybe Colorado to snowboard
-Bachelorette in Miami
-A few different states for a few weddings
-Texas for OUR WEDDING
-A honeymoon…somewhere
-Maybe Europe if we play all our cards right
-Charleston later in the year (our guide to Charleston)
And many more places we have yet to even figure out 🙂

6. Bachelorette
I have never been a big “bachelorette party” girl. All the matching things and girls in white kind of freaks me out. But, an excuse to get tan and hangout with my sisters, cousins, and best friends could not be missed. We are going to Miami a few weeks before the wedding! If you have any recommendations, let us know.

7. Our New Project is Launching
We’ve teased it on IG quite a bunch, but we are launching a digital destination for travel! I love sharing travel details on here and always will, but it’s going to be so much more on our new site.
Plus, there MAY be some products launching along with it. Stay tuned 😉
