My mom always told me when I was younger that earthy hues looked best with my skin tone. So, all the earthy hues that are emerging this fall, from olive to burgundy and mustard, make me so happy. I love the mood they create in an outfit. Plus, it is WAY better than just resorting to black for fall. Color adds a little bit (a lot) of character to an outfit.
The gathered ruffles are making their way back again this fall. They are appearing everywhere and I do not hate it. I love the feminine touch it adds to a look. The other detail I can’t get enough of is the knot. I love what a knot can do for a blouse. Whether it be on the side of a wrap blouse or on the front, it shows there was a little extra thought put into the construction of that garment. Which, coming from my fashion design background, I truly appreciate. Knot detailing is funny when it comes to sewing because it’s a sneaky way out of adding a closure, but at the same time takes a lot of thought to execute nicely.
